Hertel McClendon, L.L.P. is an independent insurance agency located in Fort Worth, Texas. As a partner in the Hertel Insurors Group, L.L.P., we also maintain offices in Austin and Lubbock, Texas.

The group is comprised of professional agencies located in Fort Worth, Austin, Abilene, Garland, Waco, Odessa, Beeville, Rockport and Harlingen, Texas. Together, the members of the group are responsible for placing over $250 million of insurance premiums each year with the largest carriers in the insurance industry. By combining our insurance placements in this manner, we are able to represent larger, more flexible insurance companies. We have the size and expertise to handle most any type of insurance risk.

Our Leadership Team

Landon Hertel

Managing Partner

Landon began his work in the insurance industry during the summers in middle school by assisting in the filing room. He later attended Texas Tech University where he majored in marketing. During his time in Lubbock, Landon shadowed another Hertel Insurors Group employee on appointments, allowing him to learn the many processes and coverages. After college, Landon spent time in Chicago at the Hartford School of Insurance furthering his insurance knowledge. More than 20 years later, Landon now manages the day-to-day operations of Hertel Insurors Group, as well as continuing to help clients protect their businesses.

When not at work, Landon enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Texas Grain and Feed Association, Lonestar Agribusiness Association, and Westwood Country Club.

Bill Hertel

President

Bill has been in a part of the insurance industry for more than 45 years. He attended the M.J. Neeley School of Business at TCU. In 1996, Bill founded the Hertel Insurors Group with the desire to provide clients with the information, services, and products needed to reduce their total cost of insurance risk. In 2018, he was awarded Master Agent of the Year for his work with the Workers’ Compensation Safety Group he authored, AgriComp.

Bill’s passion is not only selling insurance, but also educating business owners with techniques to become knowledgeable “risk management” buyers in perpetuating their income stream and lowering company risk.

When not working, Bill enjoys a wide range of extracurricular activities. These activities include tennis, recording music, photography, and playing golf. Bill also enjoys the time he spends with his wife, two children, and their families.
